A lot of times, the best gems are right in your own backyard. It’s easy to think so much of the endless options that we forget to appreciate what’s right in front of us. The ground beneath our feet. The view from the very center of our own city. I love traveling and my heart is being drawn to all corners of the world. I hope to do a lot of exploring and adventuring in my life. But I’m also compelled to have roots. Nothing living can truly thrive without them. A huge part of that, that sense of establishment, for me is just enjoying where I’m at. Being a tourist in my own town. Taking more than just enough moments to relax, unwind, and let my hair down.
My Minneapolis staycation was just what I needed after a pretty busy couple of weeks. I spent an evening at The W Hotel Minneapolis in the Extreme Wow Suite. The room couldn’t have been more perfectly named! Not sure my jaw came up off the ground the entire time… I felt like a little urban princess. The views from every room were inspiring and made me smile whenever I’d catch sight of them. Sipping Veuve at midnight and looking out over the brightly lit city was one of the highlights from my stay. Though it’s difficult to choose just one because everything was incredible. Brunch at Manny’s in the morning was everything peaceful & pleasant. The orange juice was fresh & the eggs benedict tasted amazing. As a bit of a benedict snob, you gotta know I mean it. Truly from the moment I pulled up to the moment I got my keys back from the valet, every representative from The W was warm, friendly, and went the extra mile. I can’t wait for my next visit.
