On day 2, we decided to galavant about town enjoying some of the sites and being tourists (minus the statue of liberty and 1 heart NYC shirts/foam fingers). Every good day starts with a good brunch, so Maison was first on our schedule. Everything tasted great! Then we meandered over to Times Square and then Bryant Park. New York City is just alive. All the time, so many people buzzing about. My favorites were a few older men playing chess in the park. And then another playing saxophone on the curb. In a moment’s glance, they taught me so much about relaxing and enjoying the moment. I went to the Titania Inglis show after Bryant Park, which was great! My photos didn’t end up turning out that wonderfully so I won’t be sharing them on here, but I did share a couple on Twitter & Instagram (@lindsey_herzog).
We went to the Supima Design Competition after-party on the rooftop of the Empire Hotel. Where I met two of the coolest ladies ever, who I couldn’t stop talking about the rest of the trip. They have been in the fashion industry for a while and taught me so much about the history of New York Fashion Week from location, timeline, to designer feuds and collabs.
Later that evening we went to the 5:31 Jerome Presentation. It was phenomenal!
I loved the blazers. The peach was a perfect hue and the ivory fabric had a bit of a glossy finish in the fabric, giving it that luxe feel. We can’t go a minute more without talking about those sequin pants! The drawstring waist and hem of the pants is on-trend also. The styling was playful and whimsical. I mean, those mossy shoes were super innovative and a healthy dose of fun.
And that my friends, was Day 2! PS-I’m back home in my sweet Minneapolis. Ready to settle into a routine again and definitely to sleep in my own bed. I miss NYC already, but am happy to be home!
