Holiday Gift Guide: Parents

In general, I keep all talk of Christmas at bay until after Thanksgiving. I don’t know, just wanting to savor the novelty of one of my favorite holidays. BUT. I’m learning that it’s really nice to shop ahead of time. That way the actual Christmas season can be less about gifts and buying and more about savoring time with family. Which leads me to the subject of this post. I have prepared for you a gift guide, for the family who started it all. Our parents!

It’s easy to default to the basics… gift card, slippers for him, perfume for her. But a great way to show how much we really care is by finding a unique and original gift. Here are some ideas sure to blow their socks off.

A sweater is a great gift for mom at Christmas, because in many climates. Like good ol Minnesota, winter is just beginning after the Holidays. She will love a good warm knit to wear around the house, to work, or running errands that will be cute and ridiculously cozy. Choose one of the great quality jumpers from the George at ASDA collection. I love the black and white tones in this one, making it quite versatile with anything she owns. I think that it has a good amount of style without being too trendy. This way mom can feel chic without looking like she’s trying too hard. Carefree style is the way to go.

Have you ever done an “experience” kind of gift? Like a spa day or golf package? I love this! How cool would it be if you could give them the opportunity to check something off their bucket list? Through Buy A Gift, you could give your parents an unforgettable experience ranging from something as crazy as bungee jumping and sky diving, (and even driving a tank!) to something as relaxed as afternoon tea or a river cruise. Pretty fun to see all the options!
