Sometimes when everything suddenly goes wrong at once, the only thing you can do is laugh and turn on The Fight Song. Which is exactly where I was at after a series of unfortunate events ensued, sledgehammering my best-laid plans for a bridal shower I helped host on Sunday afternoon. It was tea party themed. The climax of the fiasco took place when I arrived at the shower destination only to realize I left the 25 teacups and saucers I’d just picked up at home 30 minutes away, with no time to go back and get them before the shower started 20 minutes later. So I ducked out to go get some other ones nearby which is when Rachel Platten’s song and a oh-my-goodness-of-course-this-is-happening laugh were just what the doctor ordered.
Isn’t getting your hair done the best? From the moment you enter the place, it’s pamper time. I get my tea, my magazine, and make sure to have a fully charged phone for a few hours of me-time. I’ve been going to Rae at Haus Salon for color and she literally never disappoints. I always look in the mirror at the color job afterwards like whoa girl, how you do what you do.
Ever since I was little, I’ve always loved going to the fair. Getting cotton candy and snow cones and riding the tilt-a-whirl til you’re sick. Every kid’s dream! As happening upon this particular fair in Oakdale the other day was a bit of a spontaneous adventure, I ended up strolling through it in 4″ heels. Not ideal. Thankfully these shoes and feet have experienced a few New York Fashion Weeks, so they’re no cupcakes. The lemonade and cheese curds were totally worth it.
Just a few days til Ruby Girl’s official new website launch!! Stay tuned everyone…!
Behind the scenes, I’ve been working really hard with Luptid Style on the last few months getting a brand new Ruby Girl website ready. And get this… our launch day is MONDAY JUNE 29! I can’t wait to show you around. Plus, to celebrate, I’m doing a giveaway a day for a whole week to all of my favorite stores! So you don’t want to miss out on that action.
Now about this outfit, what can I say, I’m a sucker for seersucker. The shape of this dress with the sweetheart neckline and fitted bodice/full skirt detail is so fun. And the added detail of the bow on the back makes it extra feminine.
Everything on my shopping list is colorful, playful, girly for summer. Turning up the FUN in that June style. Here are some pieces that totally do that. The pink on pink polka dotted dress, flamingo phone case, citron flowy maxi? Gimme sommah dat.
These were taken outside of one of my latest fav spots in town. My blogger bestie and I have taken a strong liking to Spoon and Stable. Bartender Robb makes a mean citrusy mocktail. It’s about as addicting as a cocktail can be that doesn’t actually contain alcohol…. 😉 I’ll also stand by the gnocchi entree and the cheese curds/spinach small plate to the death. SO GOOD. Chelsea and I have frequented the place several times to chat blog life, real life, and oh just pass our standard sassy snarky banter back and forth. Happy to have found such a great friend … and place to friend it up.
