Dressing for Casual Friday is always a treat. We get to wear jeans and go a little more comfortable than the normal stiff blazer and ironed shirts. Why not push the boundaries a little bit further on style for Casual Fridays? Let’s amp up the volume on our trendy vibe and put together an ensemble that gets everyone talking around the Culligan water machine!
This gorgeous leopard coat from Ann Taylor is ridiculously chic. I came across it yesterday and it immediately surged to the top of my personal shopping list. A nice pair of crystal statement earrings adds a touch of elegance and femininity to a workwear look. And the stereotypical pinnacle of all casual Fridays is of course, the jeans. When searching for jeans for women, it’s important to find a wash and shape that works for you and your body type. This pair of slimming jeans by NYDJ is perfect for our girl-on-the-go at the office. The grey sweater with a built-in white collar brings in that collegiate aesthetic. I especially like the blended effect, creating a marbled tweed look in the fabric. Mixing prints is a great way to add interest to an outfit. You can see here how the black and cream in the grid bow shoes plays off of the color of the leopard jacket nicely. And the final touch on our Casual Friday outfit is this beautiful purple Fendi bag. It adds a modern edge and a much-needed pop of color.
This outfit is sure to make you feel like a million bucks and also way comfortable. I love how we can take our style up a notch at the office with just a few key pieces. From the quality jeans to the leopard statement coat, this look is schnazzy from head to toe.
Here’s to your Friday. May it be casual and stylish

Always be kinder than you feel. I came across this little adage on Pinterest the other day and had to pause. A little warmth and genuine compassion goes a long way. Even if we’re on #4034 of 20984 to-do’s on our list or if we are running 12 minutes late, there is still room for kindness. That little push to be kinder than we may feel in a moment could very well be the thing that sets in motion a ripple-effect of day-makers.
One of the highlights of my trip to North Carolina this weekend was a visit to the Biltmore Estate in Asheville. At a modest 175,000 square feet, it’s the largest home in America. It was built in 1895 by George Vanderbilt. The carefully curated furniture, fabric choices, wall coverings, were positively exquisite. My favorite room featured a purple and gold color scheme with velvet damask wall paper and a white marble fireplace. I was blown away by the details, from the stately architectural features representative of the Gilded Age to the intricate curiosities collected from travels abroad.
As a Downton Abbey fan, it was a fun surprise that 60 of the original costumes from the series were on display throughout the home. They fit right into the backdrop of the Biltmore, which could easily be our own American Downton Abbey. The clothing was beautifully made, with nothing but the most luxe of fabrics and embellishments.
I’m writing this post from my sister’s couch in North Carolina. It’s so fun to be here. To see my beautiful baby sister all grown up and in a chic little apartment with her own life out here. And for a while, I get to be part of it. A fly on the wall. Sometimes it’s hard, knowing that in a few days it will end and it will be back to phone-dates and texting. But for now, I’m enjoying indulging our every whim together. Whether it’s strolling through historic neighborhoods in 20-degree weather, getting salads & sweet tea at Crisp, laughing and catching up over tea at the Ritz, making dinner together, watching rom coms, having impromptu dance parties to vintage Usher songs. It’s true. The evidence will still be available for a few more hours on Snapchat, haha! To get an up close and maybe too personal viewing of our crazy-ness this weekend you can add me on there. My username: @lindseyherzog. So… I guess we’ll pick this up on Snapchat, then?!
A work-out is one thing; a colorful work-out is entirely another. Why not prance around in purples and pinks on occasion, especially when spring is on the horizon. Sweaty Betty has a lot of really chic, alternative work-out pieces. I love that the silhouettes are fresh, modern, and unique. I am so over the whole t-shirt and basic shorts thing. Not when you have options like this around!
