NYFW Day 7: Sapphire & Amethyst

The more time that passes between now and NYFW, the more I miss it! On this lovely Tuesday morning, Chelsea and I brunched with Sasha, Emily, and Jade at The Smith right across from Lincoln Center. I grabbed macarons at Bouchon afterwards, and then did some shopping in Soho. In the evening, I went to the Loraimy collection presentation with Jade, Emily, and Naty. The four of us finished up the night with dinner at Vinyl. It was so great to spend some time with some absolutely lovely bloggers. This was a super nice day because it felt a lot less hustle & bustle, which was a good change of pace from the two days prior. Another adventure-filled day in this exciting city!

NYFW Day 6: The Most Magical Spot in NYC

Some things are tourist attractions for a reason. Like the Empire State Building. I had no idea what I was in for. All the movies, all the hype about the romantic-ness of this particular spot made me curious, no doubt. Even so, my expectations were far surpassed when I stood up there looking over the whole city. Seriously took my breath away!

The shows on the agenda for the day were Concept Korea, Reem Acra, and KaufmanFranco.
The Concept Korea runway showcased mini-collections by 4 designers. All had their own individual aesthetics. This dress was part of a fashion-forward, streamlined collection. I loved the slight structure in the pieces and the crisp, black and white color scheme.

I absolutely adored these three Reem Acra pieces. The whole collection had a Hollywood glam vibe. From shimmering fabrics, to sequin decals, and sheer materials, the outfits were just gorgeous. The polka dots kept things playful and light.

KaufmanFranco absolutely blew my mind. As soon as I saw the tailored jackets hit the runway, I knew we were in for a great show. They were structured beautifully and were absolutely a class act. Another highlight of the show was the intertwining straps on the bodices of a few of the dresses. The asymmetry was very well thought-out; it was a really striking element. And the show-stopper was the sequinned-print long-sleeved gown. Absolutely beautiful!

The runway photos were taken with my Samsung Galaxy! ((Disclosure:)) It and 6 months of Service were provided for me as part of the Verizon Voices Style Program.

Win $100 to Live Happy!

I never leave home without a bracelet. Or a necklace. Or some accessory. Just last night, after a workout with Patrick, we decided to grab a late night bite, at a super casual place. Getting ready afterwards, I was standing there in t-shirt and jeans staring at my jewelry. And decided, why yes, of course I can thrown on a bracelet. In the end, it’s just too easy to take the outfit up a notch. Live Happy by Sarai has so many beautiful accessories, including these gorgeous lace headbands that have this on-trend twenties vibe. Other pieces are simply-stated classic chic, like the monogrammed cuff. So, are you ready to stock up on fabulous headbands and jewelry? Well I’m glad you said yes, because Sarai is giving away $100 to Live Happy! Yayy! Twirl around in a circle and high five the next person you see. Oh, and enter to win below:

Thanks so much for entering! Have an amazing day!

NYFW Day 5 :: Tracy Reese, RewardStyle, & Glam Media Dinner

Thankfully a streetstyle photographer at NYFW snapped a few shots of my look at Lincoln Center and was kind enough to pass them on to me. They turned out to be my only photos of this outfit before I tragically lost my red glasses! Yes, they were only $5 from Charlotte Russe but they were priceless to me. Perfect little pop of color. Tears, many tears. Overall, the look was a bit casual and summery for Fall Fashion Week, I’ll grant you, but it is just so stinkin me, I simply had to don it.

This is the day I met 203948602 people and ate the best meal of my life. Among other things! Such as a nice relaxing morning Epicurie Boloud breakfast pastry and coffee with Chelsea at the pavilion across from Lincoln Center. So much fun just being in the middle of all the fresh fashion buzz. Shortly after, we headed backstage with Tracy Reese, where we got a glimpse of the styling and beautifying that was taking place. The hair, as led by stylist Edris Nicholls, was curled, backcombed, and pinned for a soft, romantic look. Make-up artist, Mally Roncal, together with the company Shu Uemura, focused on creating a high-shine, dewy/natural look with the art really happening in the eyes. The graduations with pinks, plums, and golds were stunning.

While make-up and hair is ever-important, it must be working in synchrony to let the star of the show be the clothes. And weren’t they ever!

Tracy Reese brought a stellar collection to the runway. The prints were striking and memorable, each so ready for wear, by a bold fashionista all mixed together, or by a more simply-stated lady integrated with some classic pieces. As a printmixing fan, I adored how the looks were styled. Made me want to boost my silk neck-scarf collection by tenfold, no doubt about that! Tracy Reese paraded multiple new trends for spring, such as crop tops, the color orange, all-white looks, the black & white color combination, as well as vintage florals. The collection was one of my favorites of the week.
Talk about fish-out-of-water experiences every 30 seconds at the Reward Style Party. So many familiar faces, but none of them having ever been seen in 3D. One thing I have to say… Instagram has made it way more possible for me to get to know and stay in touch with so many different bloggers. I love visiting blogs when I have time, but I always check my Instagram feed, and it feels so much more personal sometimes, depending on the blog, I guess! So it was really great to be able to connect in person with ladies I’ve bonded with through Instagram/blogging, etc.

The Glam Media Dinner held true to its name and was everything glamorous. It was held at Morimoto, one of the top 100 restaurants according to top food critics. Let me tell you, I agree with those food critics. We had a generous sampling menu of so many intricate plates, with a wide variety of flavors for the palette. I still dream about this dinner.
