Porcelain & Plaid

I have been such a wimp this week with outfit pictures. We usually take them earlier in the week but it has been blazin and I mean blazin hot in MN. Just thick with humidity. So the idea of getting dolled up in anything more than shorts and a tank is a bit overwhelming. Accessories have been completely out of the question. Even wearing my hair down, nah! But trust me, no complaints here. I’d much rather have 100 & humid than our winters!!

Homecoming Dance :: What to Wear

Oh my goodness, I LIVED for homecoming week in high school! We had a spirit week which culminated to a big football game, which we won every year I’m pretty sure. My friends and I cheered like nobody’s business on Friday night and got all dolled up together on Saturday night for the big dance. There was dinner with the dates and then breaking it down on the dance floor all night long. So much fun! With school starting for you high schoolers, homecoming is not far behind! So have you thought about your dress yet?

With online shopping being what it is now, the possibilities are truly limitless! I did a little web surfing and came across some beauties, hoping I can live vicariously through you!

Painting the Town Red

Over the weekend, Patrick and I visited my family in my hometown, Appleton, Wisconsin. It’s amazing how much nostalgia takes over when you’re going on a run on your high school route, or walking through the mall or kicking back at your Starbucks. A lot happens in 7 years of adulthood. We change and grow in character, but hold onto what it is that makes us who we are. It’s healthy to take a step back now and then and remember our history, as it so very much plays a part in who we have and will become.

Night at the Theatre :: What to Wear

Night at the Theatre

I keep gravitating towards simple and elegant pendants, like this one. I have an anchor and monogram that are my typical go-to’s. And if I had this heart necklace from My Jewelry Box, it would easily join the ranks. Girl like me loves to get fance, and the theatre is one of the best reasons to do so. You may not know this about me, but I love to belt a Broadway tune and have been belting them around the house since toddlerhood. Just ask my brother, who found it annoying to high heaven. But I’m sure at least 10% endearing… So I’ve always had an appreciation for the Theatre. My favorites are definitely Wicked & The Phantom of the Opera. I’m itching to see Les Miserables! And the end of August is the perfect time to go to a show. So are you a show-goer? If so, what’s your fav?!

Walkin on Sunshine

There are some colors I would have thought I could never wear together. Green & yellow being one such pair. The reason? I’m a Packer fan! And as much as I love the Packers, I’ve always resented the decision that was so unfortunately made to have our colors be green & gold. Granted, the gold in the Packer’s uniform is a hue no being on earth could wear favorably. And the yellow in this outfit is much more generous. Similarly, the green in this look is more pleasantly emerald than the uniform’s confused forest greenish color. Maybe I can get on some committee to re-define the hues of green and gold for the Packers. Bucket list! So… all this football talk. Who else is looking forward to NFL season?!
