Spring Bling

One of the most beautiful things about spring is the va-va-voom double-take COLOR that comes back into the world. And our wardrobes are no exception. Incorporating vibrant hues in your outfits is a way to dress happy and be happy. To be your own person and stand out from the crowd. So in the name of spring and happiness, don’t be afraid to don some daring colors!

This is the last [ for now…!! 🙂 ] of my outfit photos taken by Sydnee Bickett. She is so talented and easy to talk to! It was a pleasure working with her. If you’re looking for a photographer for any reason, make sure to check her out!

Pearls, Bows, & Polka Dots

These pictures have me dreaming of exchanging my living room for my own personal white walls & floor-type studio like Sydnee’s for all of my outfit photos. So perfectly minimalist! I’m sure Patrick wouldn’t mind if I surprise him with it next week. Babe, I thought we could ditch the couch and TV, but hey, scootch over and let’s snuggle up on this painted hardwood, k? Yea, we’ll see,

This ensemble is what I wore to Emma Berg’s collection preview event during Minneapolis-St. Paul Fashion Week way back in February. Granted, there was a big ol wool coat accompanying it on the way in. But wool and I have quickly become adversarial. The tension skyrocketed once we had a snowfall on the first day of spring. So there was no way I was including that blasted fabric in these pictures.

Happy weekend! Yayyy!

Coral + Navy

This was one of those love-at-first-sight dresses. And I’m sure you would have the same experience if you were perusing Tailor & Stylist’s dress selection. The best part? Most of them are $30-45! Ok maybe that’s the second best part. The truly best part is that these dresses are one-of-a-kind and have this effortless class to them. Effortless class is so something I like to take for a spin. Another thing I like to take for a spin is bare legs… that’s right! Fiiine, only when under the protection of the indoors. Even though and especially because we have 16″ of snow on the ground and below freezing temperatures, it is time to dream for spring. Which to me today means coral and navy, plus a significant retro influence.

Rouge and Whimsy Giveaway

Seriously how amazingly talented is Erika, the brains and hands behind Rouge & Whimsy? She’s the sweetest thang and I’m so delighted to be hosting a giveaway for this store. Erika makes totes, crossbodies, clutches, iPad tablet cases, and wristlets. All of these bags have chic patterns and fabrics that bring them to the next level. You may recall that I styled one of her bags recently. It is a complete and utter doll of a bag and I have loved pairing it with this and that to give my outfits a little pop of personality. GOOD NEWS! You can win one of these beautiful bags!

Limelight

Patrick and I have been trying this new thing lately… morning outfit pictures. And I’ve quickly developed a love-hate relationship with them. It’s quite nice to have a longer morning. But I despise…loathe even(!) the moment my alarm goes off (I’m going right back to my soothing tune instead of the raucous pop thing I recently switched to. I’ll take it at 2:00pm but before the sun rises, something more gentle will suffice). Also, I’ve learned to take a few shortcuts. Like skip the eye make-up and throw on sunglasses, because morning eyes are a tool anyway.
