The vibrant red-orange hue of this maxi definitely gives this boho outfit a 1-2 punch. It’s loud, alright, but the simple shape of the maxi keeps it from being obnoxious, you know? And we can all agree that there’s a difference. The lace cardigan adds a bit of unexpected texture. I would easily wear these ikat sandals every day this summer, they are so comfy and the print is WAY fun.

These were taken outside a hole-in-the-wall cajun restaurant in my hometown a few hours away in Wisconsin. Where my family and I consumed no cajun food. Only beignets. Ever since we had some fresh on the terrace of Cafe Dumonde in New Orleans when I was a youngen, we’ve been on the hunt for some similar. These are the closest we’ve found.
When the seasons change, it can be tempting to want to scrap your whole wardrobe and start over. Resist the urge! Your credit score will thank you later. Focus on a few key pieces that embrace the freshest trends, and intermingle them with your old stuff. You’ll be surprised how far a little bit can go!

Drizzley weekend days in spring mean lazy mornings, punch pizza in the afternoon with the girls, and no golfing for Patrick. I forget about rain and how it’s nice to have an umbrella sometime. But I consider myself a bit of an umbrella snob. I’ve always had a feminine little umbrella with ruffles or polka dots, long before the things were easy to find. I had to dig them up at Kirkland’s or Pier 1. My current umbrella, featuring both polka dots annnd ruffles, has long expired, having twisted in and out and every which way far more times than it can withstand. I’ll find the next lovely umbrella destined to keep me dry and trust me you will hear about it.
